Stanley “Stretch” R. Hopf, 55

Stanley “Stretch” R. Hopf, age 55, of Huntingburg, Indiana passed away at 5:58 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Stretch was born on October 19, 1958 to Rufus and Hildegard (Jacob) Hopf. He married Kristina Fleck on August 8, 1998 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.
Stretch previously worked as a farmhand, but most recently worked as a Herald carrier.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.
He enjoyed cooking, working on cars and trucks, truck and tractor pulling, flower gardening, camping, watching the weather, and many other outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina Hopf of Huntingburg; two daughters, Allison Hopf of Jasper and Alexa Hopf of Huntingburg; three sons, Adam Hopf, Alan Hopf, and Austin Hopf, all three of Huntingburg; two sisters, Doris Harris of Huntingburg and Carolyn Riley of Huntingburg; five brothers, Gene Hopf, and his wife, Barb, of Ireland, Alfred Hopf of Princeton, Ind., Michael Hopf, and his wife, Julie, of Huntingburg, Raymond Hopf of Ferdinand, and Jerry Hopf, and his wife, Debbie, of Huntingburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is one brother Gregory Hopf.
Funeral services for Stanley “Stretch” R. Hopf will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
