St. Anthony’s 28th Annual Street Fest
Head to St. Anthony this Saturday for the 28th Annual St. Anthony Street Fest, along with the 22nd Annual Show & Shine Car and Motorcycle Show!
What began as a Street Fest at the Fire Station in 1990 has grown to the Street Fest at the Community Center. The Car Show was added six years later and has grown in popularity ever since.
Thirty-one dedicated firefighters protect Jackson Township residents from fire damage.
Fire Chief Scott Uebelhor says the 28th Annual St Anthony Street Fest raises money for that fire protection.
“Providing protection for the residents of your community is our sole purpose. That protection includes attending events within the community to promote safety such as fire prevention programs in our schools, duties at the Dubois County 4H Fair and numerous other engagements,” Uebelhor says.
“Back by popular demand is our fourth Backyard BBQ competition,” Uebelhor adds. “The grills will be lit in the wee hours, and tasting will begin at 11 a.m. Enter a team or come taste the delicious chili and BBQ.”
The beer garden will open at noon, and ‘50s and ‘60s music will fill the air during the Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show which starts at 9 a.m. Judging begins at 12 p.m. and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. There’s no cost to view the vehicles, and refreshments will be available.
Register for the WBDC cornhole tournament behind the beer garden when it opens at noon.
After 4 p.m., enjoy an air-conditioned chicken dinner or hamburger in the Community Center.
Entertainment starts at 6 p.m. with Studebaker, followed by The High Road from 8 to 10:30 p.m. After that, a DJ will provide music to dance the night away!
The family-friendly day will provide plenty of fun for all ages. Activities for kids include dodgeball and games inside the tennis court area. The grand raffle will offer a not-to-be-missed opportunity to win one – or more! – of 150 great prizes from area businesses and individuals. Tickets cost $1 or six for $5.
Plan to attend the St. Anthony Street Fest and Show & Shine Car and Motorcycle Show this weekend for tons of fun, as well as to support the dedicated firefighters of St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department.
