Special doll exhibit at Dubois County Museum

For the young and the young of heart a temporary exhibit of dolls and dollhouses is on display at the Dubois County Museum now through March 31.

In the lobby, visitors will find wooden Japanese Kokeshi dolls. These dolls are handcrafted and styled according to the region in Japan where they originated. These dolls were collected by Sandy Miller and Janet Kluemper as they traveled throughout Japan.

In Exhibit Room One, the Dione Quintuplets (Cecile, Annette, Marie, Emilie, and Yvonne) are shown with their many outfits and small accessories. In the Masterbrand area, one can find the tall beautiful Victoria who is giving her attention to Julie, a delightful doll commissioned in 1958 by Margie Blessinger to look like her daughter.

In Exhibit Room Two, one can find more dolls. Look for the Three Stooges—Harry, Larry, and Moe and many more.

Find the case that is filled with dolls to be auctioned off by silent auction. Just pick the doll or dolls that you want and mark the auction sheet for them. It may become yours on March 31.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Closed on Monday.
