Jasper–The Jasper RC Flyers are thrilled to announce the resounding success of their 2024 Strassenfest Fly-in, held on Saturday, August 3rd, at 1103 S 350 W, Jasper. The event brought together RC aircraft enthusiasts, families, and community members for a day of exciting activities and impressive aerial displays.
The event saw a fantastic turnout, with 28 registered pilots from Evansville, Henderson, Owensboro, Washington, and New Albany.
“This is one of the largest pilot turnouts I have seen in my eight years attending,” said Jeremy Church, Jasper RC Flyers Club Secretary/Safety Officer. “We just about ran out of space along the flight line, which we even extended this year.”
Event Highlights:
- RC Aircraft Demonstrations: Talented pilots from around the region showcased planes of all shapes and sizes. A standout was a Eric Schmidt of Henderson with his Flex Innovations Mamba 120 Biplane, boasting an 85-inch wingspan, performing spectacular 3D aerobatics that captivated all attendees.
- Candy Drop: Approximately 25 kids enjoyed the fun and excitement of the Candy Drop.
- RC Flight Simulator: The RC flight simulator was a hit, running non-stop throughout the day, giving attendees a taste of flying an RC plane.
“The Strassenfest Fly-in was a tremendous success, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate the joy of RC flying,” said Jeremy. “We are grateful for the support of our community and the dedication of our members who made this event possible.”
