Sister Rebecca Ann Mathauer to celebrate Silver Jubilee

On Saturday, May 23, Sister Rebecca “Becky” Ann Mathauer of the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand will celebrate her Silver Jubilee, the twenty-fifth anniversary of her Monastic Profession, at a Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving at 1:00 pm (EDT) at the monastery church in Ferdinand, with a reception immediately following.

The service will be livestreamed online at jubilee.thedome.org.

A native of Indianapolis, Sister Becky holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Theology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Middle School Education, National Certification in Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Master Level Catechesis Certification from the Archdiocese of Louisville, a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education, and a Master of Arts in Theology from St. Meinrad.

She has served in youth ministry, as a director of religious education, as a teaching assistant and teacher, as the St. Andrew Academy religious program coordinator, and in vocation and confirmation retreats. Sister Becky currently serves as a Language Arts, Religion and Resource teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Jasper and as an Oblate Liason at the monastery in Ferdinand. She was, and continues to be, attracted to this community by the sense of family it possesses and the openness shared in common life together.

In her own words, “We strive to see God in all things and in one another each and every day!”

Those wishing to celebrate Sister Becky by making a gift to the Sisters of St. Benedict in her honor can do so at
thedome.org/donate. As the form is completed, the option to note that it is a gift in honor of a sister will become
available.
