Single-vehicle crash sends driver to hospital
A driver was injured when he lost control of his car in a curve on U.S. 231 Sunday night.
Deputies responded to the report of a crash involving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee on U.S. 231 north of County Road 500N near Haysville at about 11 p.m.
Deputies determined Christopher Manning, 44, of Jasper, was southbound in the SUV when he lost control of it as he entered a curve north of 500N. Manning stated he lost traction and began to spin. When he attempted to correct the spin, the vehicle went off the west side of the road in a ditch. The SUV struck an embankment and came to rest facing south in the ditch.
Manning was out of the vehicle when deputies arrived. He was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries, according to authorities.
The Jeep was considered a total loss.
Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Haysville Volunteer Fire Department first responders and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted at the scene.
