Shoals blowout a great ending for Lady Raiders regular season; now Sectional
The Southridge Raiders, now 16-8, achieved their best regular season record in school history behind the leadership of 4 seniors who ended their regular season careers on a high note last night in a 17-1 blowout of the Shoals Jugrox in Huntingburg.
Mariah Ferguson was 4-4 with 2 singles and 2 triples, Allie Michel 3-4 with a single, triple, and a Home Run, Vanessa Kern 3-3 with 3 singles, and Gabby Treat was 3-4 with 3 singles.
The Raiders scored 2 in the first, 1 in the second, then 11 in the 3rd and 3 more in the 4th before the game ended by run rule. 11 Raiders got hits in the game, as the Raiders tallied 22 total for their best offensive output of the season.
Kendyl Dearing got the win for Southridge, improving her record to 7-3 on the season. Southridge finishes their regular season with a 16-8 record, 5-3 in the PAC.
Next on the docket for the Raiders is a rematch with Heritage Hills in the opening game of the IHSAA Sectional Tournament on Monday night, at 6:00pm, in Jasper.
