Shirley Bryant, 84, St. Meinrad

Shirley Bryant, 84, of St. Meinrad, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Willowdale Village in Dale.

Shirley was born on September 15, 1942, in Ferdinand to Edwin and Caroline (Miller) Reckelhoff.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Michael (Mickey) Bryant Sr. of St. Meinrad; her children, Judi (Michael) Brosseau of Huntingburg, Brenda Oeding of Stendal, Don (Barbara) Messmer of St. Anthony, Jackie (Steve) McPherron of Huntingburg, Roger (Tracey) Messmer of Dale, Michael (Samantha) Bryant Jr. of St. Meinrad and Jeff (Melissa) Bryant of Santa Claus; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Caroline Reckelhoff; sister, Gladys Balbach; her brother, Edward Rickelhoff; and a daughter, Angela Gesualdo.

Shirley loved to read, play cards and crochet. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gentryville. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand from 4 to 7 p.m. EST and also on Thursday morning from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. EST at the funeral home.
