Sherrie A. Tornatta, 79, Santa Claus

Sherrie A. Tornatta, 79, Santa Claus, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at her home in Christmas Lake Village.

She was born in Posey County on Sept. 2, 1937, to John and Mellie Esther (Ransom) Neu. She married Emerson Tornatta on Aug. 20, 1960, in Evansville.

Mrs. Tornatta was the former owner and operator of Sherrie’s Shop in Santa Claus. She was a member of the Santa Claus United Methodist Church. She loved being with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Emerson Tornatta; one daughter, Jodi Patmore of Santa Claus; one son, Brian Tornatta of Santa Claus; a sister, Gloria Neu of Newburgh; two grandchildren; and a niece.

A private service will be scheduled for a later date.
