Sherman A. Stuckey, Jr., 81

Sherman A. Stuckey, Jr., age 81, of Huntingburg, Indiana passed away at 3:28 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born December 17, 1929 in Loogootee, Indiana to Sherman Stuckey, Sr. and Mary M. (Holt) Stuckey. He was united in marriage to Florence L. Wendling on September 9, 1950.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Stuckey retired from the Daviess Martin County R.T.C. as a telephone lineman and serviceman.
He was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles; and the V.FW. Post #2366 where he served as a former post commander.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Florence L. Stuckey, who died September 27, 2002; one daughter, Merci Thomas; and one sister, Mary LaMar.
He is survived by:

Two daughters and two son-in-laws:
- Jenny (spouse: Mike) Fowler – Jasper, IN
- Bernadette (spouse: Tom) Heeke – Celestine, IN
His companion:
- Rosie Stetter – Huntingburg, IN
Two brothers:
- Jack Stuckey – Loogootee, IN
- Bob Stuckey – Evansville, IN
And seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Sherman Stuckey, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Time, on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Huntingburg. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to: Memorial Hospital’s Family Palliative Care.
