Sharyal L. Eckert, 59

Sharyal L. Eckert, 59, of Jasper, passed away at 5:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at her brother’s house in Shoals.

Sharyal was born in Lebanon, Ind. on July 1, 1956 to Delbert and Ines (Kelly) Haulk.

She had worked for Uebelhor and Son’s in Jasper for 21 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Matthews and her husband Phil of Driftwood, Texas; her companion, Donald Eckert of Jasper; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Adam Matthews; one sister, Linda Abbott and husband Mike of Lexington, Ind.; four brothers, Dennis Haulk and wife Anita of Campbellsville, Ky., Bill Haulk of Shoals, George “Wayne” Haulk of Charlestown, Ind. and Kelley Deal of Henryville; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Joann Blackwell

Funeral services for Sharyal L. Eckert will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday,  August 11, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015, at the Becher Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, or the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
