Share (or sell) unused tickets for Jasper Arts performances

Jasper — Clint Black is performing at the Jasper Arts Center Sunday evening and every ticket is sold, but Director Kit Miracle is concerned about empty seats.

Regardless of the scheduled performance, sold-out shows invariably have empty seats and the Jasper Arts Commission would like to ensure those seats are filled.

Miracle informed the Arts Board that she has a waiting list for tickets to the Clint Black performance so anyone not attending should contact the Jasper Arts Center to allow someone else to attend.

According to Miracle the department will not refund money for those tickets but if individuals do relinquish their tickets back to the Arts Center, they will receive a tax form noting the tax deductible donation. To receive the letter for tax purposes the tickets must be turned in 24 hours prior to the performance.

“Either way, if they want to give them to their neighbor, sell them in the paper, or give them back to us, Miracle said. “We just don’t want to have empty seats. These are great performances for our small town.”
