Seven roads closed due to flooding
While the county largely escaped any major damage during Sunday evening’s storms and tornados, heavy rain in the southern portion of the county had impacted several roads.
The Dubois County Highway Department reported that seven county roads are closed due to rising water levels from Hunley Creek, Bruner Creek, Indian Creek, Short Creek, and Valley Head Water — all closures concentrated in Patoka Township.
In District 3, seven Patoka Township roads are closed. CR 400 South east of US 231 and CR 130 West north of CR 400 South are both impacted by Hunley Creek, while 1st Street in Huntingburg west of CR 75 West remains closed due to Bruner Creek. CR 75 West south of SR 64 and CR 660 South east of CR 75 West are both affected by Indian Creek. CR 200 West south of Sunset Drive is closed due to Short Creek, and two sections of Ferdinand Road Northwest east of CR 200 West are closed due to Valley Head Water.
