Sen. Schmitt welcomes local students to Statehouse as Senate pages
State Sen. Daryl Schmitt (R-Jasper) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages.
- Aleya Fogle, from Huntingburg, is a homeschooled student
- Amelia Grothouse, from Jasper, attends Northeast Dubois Middle School
- Kelsie Patterson, from Otwell, is a homeschooled student
- Amelia Schipp, from Evanston, is a homeschooled student
- Penelope Van Slyke, from Jasper, is a homeschooled student
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse, touring the historic building, observing debates on the Senate floor, and interacting with their state senator.
“It’s always wonderful to meet the Senate pages from Senate District 48,” Schmitt said. “Getting to connect with all these students is something I look forward to every year, and I encourage students to consider participating next session.”
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session.
The 2026 Senate Page program has now ended. Parents interested in learning more about the program should visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Page-Program. Applications for the 2027 program will be available at the end of 2026
