Section of Leopold Street under boil advisory

The Jasper Municipal Water Department announced the water supply has been turned back on for water customers on Leopold Street between 13th and 14th Streets. However, a boil advisory will be in effect until further notice.

The Boil Water Advisory is being issued to prevent residents from getting sick from potentially harmful germs or chemicals in the water.  

Residents affected are asked to boil their water for five minutes before consuming it or giving it to pets.  The water is safe for bathing.  

The Boil Water Advisory will last a minimum of 48 hours or until two consecutive water samples pass testing.  Another notification will be made once the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
