Born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on July 12, 1968, Scott was the son of John T. Vaughn and Mary F. Vaughn (Hillman).

He graduated from Heritage Hills High School and was employed at ERI Inc. as a Broadcast tower technician.

He was a self-taught artist and had a great love for music, teaching himself to play the drums and bass guitar. In his youth, he was the frontman for multiple bands. His other passion was working in his garage on anything with a motor. Motorcycles held a special place in his heart and were among his greatest passions.

Much of Scott’s time was spent in his garage, where he enjoyed working on vehicles and helping friends, neighbors, and members of the community with automotive problems.

Scott was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Joe, and his parents.

He is survived by his brother, John (Marie) Vaughn of Gentryville; his sister, Robin Schulz of Salt Lake City; his nephews, Seth (Kristin), Levi (Hunter), and Noah (Rebekah) Schulz; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

Affectionately known as “Scotty,” Scott was a beloved member of the Gentryville community. He was cared for and supported by many members of the community and will be deeply missed.

Scott marched to the beat of his own drum—literally. He lived life on his own terms and left this world exactly as he lived: authentically and unapologetically himself.

A celebration will be held at a later date. Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Rainey Funeral Home to help with expenses.
