Scherer Development to acquire Erny Sheet Metal
Scherer Development has agreed to terms to acquire Erny Sheet Metal, a longstanding metal manufacturer based in Jasper.
Corey Scherer, President/CEO of Scherer Development and Advanced Sports Supply, stated in the deal terms that all current employees of Erny Sheet Metal, including Secretary Barb Erny and President Dave Erny, will be retained and business will continue as usual.
“Our goals are to continue to support our local and regional manufacturing facilities as Erny Sheet Metal has for 48 years, while also expanding custom fabrication. We will also keep the respected Erny name and start the process of looking for the next generation of key personnel to fill roles so that Erny Sheet Metal can be successful for another 50 years.” Scherer said.
According to Scherer, acquiring Erny Sheet Metal will help continue the family business built on hard work, dependability, and relationships.
“Those same principles are what drive our current businesses,” he said.
The move also allows Advanced Sports Supply to leverage the processes and an extremely skilled manufacturing group to produce products for distribution through the company and private label for its growing customer base.

As part of the acquisition, Scherer noted the following internal organizational moves. Current CFO of Advanced Sports Supply, David Knust, will become the VP and CFO of Scherer Development. Current National Sales Director of Advanced Sports Supply, Jeff Sanders, will become VP of Advanced Sports Supply. Current National Accounts Manager of Advanced Sports Supply, Molly Jahn, will become VP of Erny Sheet Metal.
