Saturdays at the Barbersalon

Angie Martin opened Prodigy Barbersalon in Huntingburg in early 2020 right before the pandemic hit. While she struggled through the first half of the year, as soon as the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, her new business picked up new clients quickly. You can check out the salon’s work on Facebook here. <Photos by Matthew Crane.>
Prodigy Barbersalon fills the elegant space in the former Huntingburg Bank building at 302 East Fourth Street.
Stacia Lampert trims the sides of Jonathan Sevilla Saturday morning while his mother waited nearby. Stacia has been building her clientele at the Barbersalon since she started there about two years ago. All the stylists/barbers at the shop take their time to ensure clients get the best service possible.
Ben Claxton trims Tyler Braun up Saturday morning. Ben has been barbering for about three years and drives down from French Lick to work in Huntingburg because he loves the atmosphere.
On Saturdays, Angie’s 8-year-old daughter Ariel Schocke spends the day in the shop helping to sweep the floors and hang out with the other stylists.
Tressa Masterson’s specialty is color. She loves to help her clients with coloring their hair.
Angie wants the public to know they are a full-service salon with several skilled stylists. You can book appointments on the phone app Vagaro (search and download in the App Store) or by calling the shop at 812-684-8193.
Stacia and Ben discuss upcoming clients while they wait for their next customers to arrive Saturday morning.
