Santiago Garza “Chago” Salinas, 62, Huntingburg

Santiago Garza “Chago” Salinas, 62, of Huntingburg, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Waters of Huntingburg. 

He was born July 7, 1964, in Blue Earth City, Minnesota, to Esptacion “Chon” and Juanita (Garza) Salinas.

In his early years, he worked harvesting produce for Ahrens’ Strawberry Farm and continued working tirelessly as a builder in several wood factories in the area. Chago adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment he had with them.  He also had a very special friend, Missy Salinas, and they spent many happy years together. She was devoted to him and provided tender care throughout his illness.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Jenny) Salinas of Evansville; a daughter, Kimberly Salinas of Huntingburg; four grandchildren, Alliyah, Josilyn, Zaida, Raul; brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Chago Salinas will be held at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg on Saturday, August 8th from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service beginning at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
