Sandra R. Stetter, 64

Sandra R. Stetter, 64, of Huntingburg, passed away Thursday morning, February 19, 2015, at her residence.

She was born October 17, 1950 in Celestine, Indiana, to William and Mary Magdelene (Sander) Merkel. She married Charles Stetter on April 26, 1975 at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Sandy was a homemaker; member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg; and enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and watching the rain come down and the wildlife in her backyard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ambrose Merkel and Melvin Merkel who died in infancy.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Stetter of Huntingburg; three daughters and three son-in-laws, Vicki Day and her husband Brandon of Dale, Julie Bayer and her husband Jason M. of Huntingburg and Karla Hohler and her husband Edward J. II of Huntingburg; one son and one daughter-in-law, Steven Stetter and his wife Shauna of Huntingburg; six sisters, Esther Hasenour of St. Anthony, Imelda Sermersheim of Newburgh, Joan Hasenour of Huntingburg, Rita Hasenour of St. Anthony, Magdelene Buechlein of Jasper, and Clarissa “Sis” Patterson of West Baden; three brothers, James Merkel of Jasper, Robert Merkel of Huntingburg and Ronnie Joe Merkel of Loogootee; and eight grandchildren, Cody, Rusty, Jacob, Timothy, Andrea, Elizabeth, Blake and Alexandra.

Funeral services for Sandra Stetter will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.  A parish vigil service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
