Samuel Junior Fleeger, 93, Lamar

Samuel Junior Fleeger, 93, passed away in the comfort of his home on April 15, 2022, after a very full and adventurous life.

Born on November 9, 1928, to John Samuel Fleeger and Nola Jane Edwards Fleeger, he was a simple man who never met a stranger. He had wealth, not in a materialistic way, but in the dedication and love he gave to his family. He was always thoughtful and giving to those in need.

He was retired after 30 years from LTV Steel,  as a foreman and union representative. He also worked for SIRS for a brief stint, from the age of 87 to 91. He volunteered, for the Dale Fall Fest, for many years cooking pork chops.

Sam was well known and liked by many in his community. Everyone loved the stories of his life experiences and many found he was a man cut from a different cloth.

Sam has spent the last 26 years dedicated to his daughter, Tiffany, and her three children, Whitley, Aeon and Simon. He loved being able to be a part of their everyday life and knew he was needed and belonged. He was so loved and will be deeply missed.

Sam was preceded in death, by 16 siblings, his parents and one grandchild, Chandra.

He is survived by his children: daughters, Deborah and Tiffany; sons, Jeffery and John; nine grandchildren, Jason, Courtney, Shaun, Jonah, Matthew, Whitley, Aeon, Georgia, and Simon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Tiffany Held for the Benefit of The Sam I Am Fund at the Spencer County Bank. This is a memorial fund, that will be given to the Dale Fall Fest committee to be used and dedicated in his memory.
