Sammie “Sam” Ridenour, 76, of Wickliffe, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at his residence in Casa Grande, Arizona.

He was born April 15, 1938 in Crawford County to Phillip and Bertha (Main) Ridenour.

He married Sharon K. Walters on October 3, 1981 in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Sam was a retired industrial and commercial electrician. He was a member of the Birdseye Christian Church; enjoyed woodworking as a hobby; and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Veneda Schanck; and one step granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon K. Ridenour of Casa Grande, Ariz.; four sons and two daughter-in-laws, Rickey (Toni) Ridenour of Indianapolis, Patrick (Cherie) Ridenour of Danville, Keith Ridenour of Plainfield, and Matthew Ridenour of Woodbury, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon (Jonathan) Massie of Bell Buckle, Tenn.; his brother-in-law, Eugene Schanck; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Sammie “Sam” Ridenour will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Indiana.

The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday. Memorial donations can be made to the Birdseye Christian Church or the American Lung Association.
