Ruth H. Klem, 80

Ruth H. Klem, 80, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 9:48 p.m., on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born in St. Marks on May 29, 1934, to Theodore and Laura (Striegel) Bieker.
She married Victor F. Klem on July 29, 1950 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony.
Mrs. Klem and her husband operated Windell’s Restaurant in Dale for a number of years. Ruth also worked at Gossard’s, Huntingburg Wood Products, Hoosier Desk, GentleCare and Grandy’s Restaurant. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Ruth enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, crafting, gardening and spending time with her family. She loved all animals and was an avid I.U. basketball fan.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Laura Rose Klem, who both died in infancy; a son-in-law, George Eichmiller; one brother Theodore Bieker, Jr.; and two sisters, Bernice and Leola Bieker.
Mrs. Klem is survived by her husband of 64 years, Victor F. Klem; five sons and three daughter-in-laws, Victor and his wife Ann Klem, Jr. of Mariah Hill, Richard and his wife Sonia Klem of Jasper, Theodore and his wife Gayla Klem of Jasper, Douglas Klem of Jasper and Lawrence Klem of Jasper; four daughters and three son-in-laws, Norma and her husband Jeff Padgett of Otwell, Corma and her husband Gerald Knebel of Jasper, Barbara Eichmiller of Jasper and Debra and her husband Scott Gehlhausen of Jasper; two sisters, Marie Mullen of Kyana and Lauretta Prechtel of Santa Claus; by 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruth H. Klem will be held at 10:00 a.m., EST on Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in St. Anthony. The Reverend Fr. Ryan Hilderbrand will officiate at the funeral.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m. EST on Thursday.
A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
