Ruth Ann Pride, 84, Otwell

Ruth Ann Pride, 84, of Otwell, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Amber Manor in Petersburg, Indiana.

She was born on December 2, 1940, in Evansville, Indiana, to William & Mary Risley. She was a graduate of Otwell High School and Deaconess School of Nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and Golden Living before moving on to home health as a visiting nurse.  She was a member of Contenders of Faith Church. She enjoyed birdwatching, photography, genealogy, flowers, and spending time with family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, son David Pride; brother, Lt. Col. Dan Risley; and sister, Martha Risley.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Pride; daughter, Sherry (Scott) Christianson; son, Stephen (Kris) Pride; daughter, Amy (Chuck) Card; and daughter-in-law, Laura Pride; grandchildren; Daniel Pride, Elizabeth Buemi, Nicholas Pride, Rachel Kaiser, Matthew Kaiser, Kayla Elliott, Michael Pride and Gillian Card; three great-grandchildren; brother, John Risley and sister, Kate Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Otwell Cemetery, Pastor Bill Breidenbaugh officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Contenders of Faith Church or Otwell Cemetery.
