Ruth A. Hunefeld, 89

Ruth A. Hunefeld, 89, of Holland, Indiana, passed away at 2:57 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born March 6, 1925 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Wesley and Mabel (Finke) Lammers.

She married Melvin E. Hunefeld on November 16, 1947 and they shared 56 years of married life together.

Ruth was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school; was one of the original organizers of the Happy Homemakers Club in Holland; and helped organize the local 4-H Club in Holland. Ruth enjoyed camping, growing plants, fishing and swimming. She also loved caring for animals.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Melvin E. Hunefeld, who passed away January 18, 2004.

She is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Allen (Elaine) Hunefeld of Holland, and Mark (Angela) Hunefeld of Ferdinand; by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ruth A. Hunefeld will be held at 10:00 a.m., EST, Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Holland United Methodist Church in Holland with burial to follow at the Holland United Methodist Cemetery.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday; and also one hour prior to the funeral at Church on Thursday morning. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
