Russell G. Hilsmeyer, 92, Holland

Russell G. Hilsmeyer, 92, of Holland, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

He was born on July 27, 1932, in Holland, to John B. and Violet (Rauscher) Hilsmeyer.

He worked for the Holland Dairy and Uebelhor & Son Chevrolet and retired in 1994.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #343.

He traveled to Lake Okeechobee, Florida, every winter from 1996 to 2024.

He was a lifelong Los Angeles Dodgers fan.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Partenheimer, Doris Partenheimer, Joan Hilsmeyer, and Alice Coleman; brother, Dean Hilsmeyer; and stepdaughter, Lori Bullock.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Villines of Holland; son, Michael (Holly) Hilsmeyer of Avon; stepson, Mark Bullock of Holland; grandchildren, Joshua Songer, Andrew (Taylor) Songer, Jackson Hilsmeyer, Max Hilsmeyer, and Michelle Bullock.

Celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the American Legion Post #343 Holland.
