Russell E. Morgan, 86

Russell E. Morgan, 86 of Bloomington, formerly of Santa Claus, died Wednesday September 11th at Garden Villa Nursing Home/ IU Health in Bloomington. Russell was born December 14, 1928, to Welza O. & Agnes (Parr) Morgan in Dushires, IN. He married Romona Altman on November 30, 1946, in Saint Ferdinand Rectory, Ferdinand. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2012.

He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed at RCA as a test foreman for 22 years. He was employed at the Magnavox Company for 18 years as general foreman for military Electronics products. He was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He was an avid fisherman & IU basketball fan.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon D. Gill and husband Glen of Covington, KY; two sons, Gary N. Morgan and wife Sue of Bloomington, and Ronald W. Morgan and wife Rebecca of West Lafayette; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 brother-in-laws, and 1 sister-in-law.

Graveside services will be held in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery on Wednesday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside Rites. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT Tuesday September 24th at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand. Condolences may be offered online at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
