Roy Stilwell, 101, Huntingburg

Roy Stilwell, 101, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center.

He was born November 2, 1914, in Huntingburg, Indiana to James and Ophia (Maxey) Stilwell.

Roy retired from D.M.I. Plant #5 in 1974, where he worked as a warehouse manager. He was also co-owner of Roy Stilwell & Son Triumph Motorcycle Sales and Service in Huntingburg. He loved hunting and fishing, target shooting, playing checkers, and motorcycle riding.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Donald Stilwell, Larry Stilwell and Roy E. Stilwell; two sisters, Ruby Knapp and Ruth Blaylock; and two brothers, Raymond Stilwell and Russell Stilwell.

He is survived by two sons, Jim Stilwell of Newburgh and Ray Stilwell of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Ruth Ann Flannelly of Minneapolis, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Private graveside interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Nass & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the burial arrangements. There will be no public visitation or services. Memorial contributions in memory of Roy Stilwell can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
