Rotary Passport Club forming in Jasper
Rotary District 6580 Governor Lance Eberle has appointed Rotarian Darren C. Patterson as a special representative to charter a new Rotary club in Jasper. The new club will be a non-traditional club that will allow members to participate in Rotary according to their schedules.
This club will be in addition to the current Rotary Club of Dubois County. The “passport” club format offers members the opportunity to participate in any Rotary club meeting or project in the district, state, or the world.
District Governor Eberle of the Rotary Club of Bloomington said, “It is exciting to see all the options community leaders have to serve as we expand the way we think of service now and into the future.” “Darren is committed to the growth of the district membership and is clearly focused on Rotary’s future in Southern Indiana.”
Patterson, founder of the Rotary Club of Jasper (now known as the Rotary Club of Dubois County), has served in several leadership positions in Rotary and is a member of the district team to form new clubs.
“To charter this club and grow Rotary, we will start with the basics,” Patterson said. “Making business connections, making new friends, and having fun were reasons why the original members founded Rotary in 1905. It’s a simple formula for success.”
The first informational meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Schnitzelbank in Jasper. Time to socialize will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a short presentation about the new meeting format will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in their communities, and in themselves.
Rotarians provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through their fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
