Rosina C. Mehringer, 97

Rosina C. Mehringer, 97, of Jasper passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

Rosina was born in Celestine, Indiana on November 21, 1917, to Herman J. and Katherine (Schroering) Schroeder. She had two marriages. Her first marriage was to Emil Mehringer on November 27, 1945 in St Celestine Church. He preceded her in death on July 19th, 1984. Her second marriage was to Joseph Schwartz in 1988. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2007.

Rosina was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and their Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Cynthia Krepco; two stepsons, Joseph and Charles Schwartz; one sister, Marie Beckman of Celestine; one brother, Norbert Schroeder of Jasper; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death beside her two husbands were sisters Bernadette Schroering and Veronica Mehringer, and brothers Joseph, Alois, Edward, Jerome, Rev. Othmar and Rev. Sylvester Schroeder.

Funeral services for Rosina C. Mehringer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday. The Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will pray the rosary at 2:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
