Rosie Knies, 71

Rosie Knies, 71, of Jasper, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at home.

Rosie was born in Celestine, Indiana on March 8, 1944, to Arthur and Minnie (Fischer) Buechler. She married Delmar L. Knies on May 2, 1964, at St. Celestine Church. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1996.

Rosie was a self-employed seamstress and worked for St. Vincent de Paul in Jasper for the past 19 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Knies and her fiancé Monte Maier of Jasper; two sons, Dwayne Knies and his wife Sherry and Jason Knies and his wife Amy, all of Jasper; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Fleck and husband Wilfred and Kathy Sivori and husband Jim, all of Huntingburg; two brothers, Jim Buechler and wife Janet of Celestine and Arthur Buechler Jr. of Vincennes.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two brothers; Harold and Charles Buechler.

Private Services for Rosie Knies will be held at a later date with entombment at Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
