Rosemary Schneider, 87, Jasper

Rosemary Schneider, 87, Jasper, passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday (August 3, 2016) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

Rosemary was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May 27, 1929 to Edward and Rose (Evans) Merder. She married Eugene Schneider on November 27, 1947 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1997.

Rosemary was a homemaker and worked at Jasper Seating. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and was a past St. Ann Society member. She enjoyed painting, playing bingo, playing Scrabble and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Fleck and her husband Michael of Huntingburg; one son, Tim Schneider and his wife Teresa of Huntingburg; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death beside her husband are two daughters, Gail Holt and Cynthia Schneider; one grandson, Cody Holt; two brothers, Marvin and Wilfred Merder; and one sister, Harriett Benkert.

Funeral services for Rosemary Schneider will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Friday.
