Rosemary O. Mundy, 87, Huntingburg

Rosemary O. Mundy, 87, Huntingburg, passed away at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her residence.

She was born September 18, 1928, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Raymond P. and Mary (Kordes) Olinger.

She married Leroy E. Mundy on June 5, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Mrs. Mundy was a homemaker and worked as the office manager at Olinger Construction Company. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and former member of the Library Board of Directors and Youth Center Board of Directors.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy E. Mundy, who passed away February 20, 2007; one son, Joe Mundy; one infant daughter, Carolyn Mundy; and two brothers, Lee Ray Olinger and Norb Olinger.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul (Gretchen) Mundy of Huntingburg; three daughters and three son-in-laws, Kathy (Mark) Schmidt of Jasper, Mary (Mike) Uebelhor of Huntingburg and Jean (Todd) Lancaster of Washington; one sister, Doris Tretter of Huntingburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Max (Dorothy) Olinger of Santa Claus; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rosemary Mundy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Sisters of St. Benedict, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
