Rosemary C. Buechler, 93

Rosemary C. Buechler, 93, of Ferdinand, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Brookside Village Assisted Living Community in Jasper.

She was born July 11, 1922 in Ferdinand to Frank & Catherine (Lueken) Schipp. She married Herbert E. Buechler on August 9, 1947, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2003.

Rosemary was a retired postal worker at Ferdinand. She was a lifelong member of St. Ferdinand Parish and its St. Ann’s Sodality. She was a member of the Ferdinand Community Center. Rosemary enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, baking. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Mike Buechler and his wife Dorothy of Ferdinand; three daughters, Mary Ann Kempf and husband Tom of Sellersburg, Phyllis Willis and husband Keith and Margie Gilmore and husband Dan, both of Bretzville; one son-in-law, Eddie Reckelhoff of St. Anthony; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Reckelhoff, six sisters, Verena Ruhe, Louise Welp, Wilhemina Verkamp, Irma Brames, Leona Brames and Frances Schipp; one brother, Gilbert Schipp.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
