Rosalee “Rosie” R. Rickelman, age 80, of Jasper, passed away at 9:28 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Timbers of Jasper.

Rosie was born on April 5, 1933 in Jasper, Indiana to Othmar and Philomenia “Minnie” (Brames) Kapp. She married Robert Rickelman on June 22, 1954 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2013.

She worked for Kimball International for many years, one of which was at the Kimball Reynosa Mexico facility when it was established. She also worked for Woodmasters in St. Anthony, and her and her husband owned and operated the Palm Gardens Tavern in Bretzville and the Friendly Inn at Bristow.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed cooking, quilting, playing cards, and making crafts of many sorts.

She is survived by three sons, John Rickelman and spouse Phyllis, of St. Anthony, Bill Rickelman and spouse, Barbara, of Burnstadt, Ky., and Pat Rickelman, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two brothers, Delmar and Richard Kapp.

Funeral services for Rosalee “Rosie” R. Rickelman will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (January 25, 2014) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday (January 24, 2014) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
