Ronald M. Dowdell, 74

Ronald M. Dowdell, 74, of Duff, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at his residence.

He was born March 25, 1941 in Warrick County, Indiana, to John Raymond and Estle (Howard) Dowdell. He married Viola Ruth Reinbold on March 25, 1961, at the Church of Christ in Duff.

Mr. Dowdell worked in manufacturing at Kimball International for 43 years and retired in 2003. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Duff and the Duff Conservation Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Raymond Dowdell; his mother, Estle (Howard) Dowdell Wallace; his stepfather, Fred Wallace; his wife, Viola Ruth (Reinbold) Dowdell who passed away June 26, 2014; and two grandsons, Ryan A. Dowdell who passed away March 30, 2013 and David Dodson III who passed away November 4, 2014.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Dodson of Huntingburg; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Scott (Susan) Dowdell of Syracuse, Ind. and Alan (Kerry) Dowdell of Winslow; and one step-sister, Imogene Taylor of Mount Carmel, Ill.

Funeral services for Ronald M. Dowdell will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mayo Cemetery near Duff.  The funeral services will be officiated by Larry Mickler.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., on Saturday, the day of the funeral.
