Ronald J. Seger, 63

Ronald J. Seger, 63, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Ronald was born on December 10, 1950 in Washington, Indiana to Charles and Geraldine (Howard) Seger. He married Kathleen Klein on June 25, 1972 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN.
Ron managed the Dubois County Community Meal Program. He was a retired insurance agent, Realtor, and professional sales person. He also previously worked for Hopf Equipment, Stens Corporation, and Ditto Sales.
He was an Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
He was the Grand Knight and a 4th Degree Knight of the Jasper Knights of Columbus Council #1584. He was a member of the VFW Post #673 in Jasper and the American Legion Post #493 in Jasper. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 77
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, where he was active in the Christ Renews his Parish community, Cursillo, and the Education Commission. He was a participant of the Divine Providence Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at Precious Blood Catholic Church.
He was known for his big heart, memorable smile, and his positive attitude. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, reading, was an avid volunteer for many organizations, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Seger of Jasper; two sons, Khris Seger and his wife Kathy, of Evansville and Jamie Seger and his wife Karen, of Kannapolis, N.C.; one daughter, Libby Szudzik and her husband Dan, of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Sydney, Emily, Ethan, and Peyton Seger; parents, Charles and Geraldine Seger, of Jasper; two brothers, Glenn Seger and his wife Karen, of Bishop, Ga. and Dave Seger and his wife Laurel, of Jasper.
Funeral services for Ronald J. Seger will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in the Jasper Enlow Cemetery in Jasper, IN. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed at 3:00pm on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Divine Providence Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, located at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, IN. The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 77 will be holding a memorial service during visitation at 6 p.m. .
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Divine Providence Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, the Dubois County Community Meal Program, or a favorite charity.
