Ronald Gene Collins, 59, Shoals

Ronald Gene Collins, 59, of Shoals, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. 

He was born April 14, 1960, in Muncie to William Jr. and Patricia (Wilson) Collins. 

He was a truck driver. Ronald loved traveling, the outdoors and fishing, boating, mowing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Ronald is survived by his life companion, Sharon Porter; two daughters, Tara (Trenton) Dewitt of Missouri, Michelle (Lance) King of Springville; one son, Ronald Collins Jr. (Candace Starret) Navarre Beach; five grandchildren; three brothers David (Ann) Collins of Eaton, Danny (Lynn) Collins of Shoals, Frank Collins of Hartford City; and two sisters, Judy Martin of Shoals and Carol Humbert of Jasper. 

Preceding him in death are his parents; a grandson, Briar Gene King; and two sisters, Beverly Collins and Freda Bell. 

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with Bro. Kevin Quinn officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. 

The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
