Ronald E. Schroeder, 73

Ronald E. Schroeder, 73, of Ireland, Indiana passed away at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Jasper, Indiana on January 9, 1941 to Joseph and Esther (Fischer) Schroeder. He married Sue Bleemel on October 12, 1963 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.
Ron was a graduate of Jasper High School Class of 1959 and served in the Indiana National Guard .
He retired from Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper where he worked as an emergency medical technician. He served for 41 years as a firemen and first responder for the Ireland Fire Department .. He also served on the board and was a past president of the Ireland Water Utilities for over 30 years.
Ron was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Ireland Knights of Columbus where he served as a past grand knight, and Ireland Sportsman’s Club.
He enjoyed working on the family farm, Beaver Lake, fishing ,playing cards and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Schroeder; daughters, Rhonda Hedrick and her husband Brent, of Indianapolis, and Deborah Dysert and her husband Steven, of Sorrento, Fla.; seven grandchildren; Abby, Lydia, Nathan and Luke Hedrick, also Alexis , Alyssa, and William Dysert; sisters, Kate Labhart and her husband Neil, of Jasper, Rose Ann Sanders and her husband Harold, of Reelsville, Ind., Carolyn Auffart of Ferdinand, Rebecca Schroeder of Evansville, Linda Lambert and her husband Dave, of Evansville, and Christine Prior of Huntingburg; brothers, Leroy Schroeder and wife Bernetta, of Jasper, James Schroeder and wife Donna, of Jasper, and Charles Schroeder and wife Ruth, of Greencastle.
Preceding him in death is one son, Michael Scott Schroeder and sisters, Norma Jean Mehringer and Cynthia Rosbottom.
Funeral services for Ronald Schroeder will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ireland.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday , July 15, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, (July 15, 2014), by District #18 Indiana Volunteer Fire Department.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or to the Ireland Volunteer Fire Department.
