Romilda E. Goepferich, 88, St. Meinrad

Romilda E. Goepferich, 88, St. Meinrad, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at her home.

She was born in Ferdinand in Oct. 10, 1927, to Herman E. and Mary E. (Gehlhausen) Petry. She married Hubert Goepferich Jr. on June 24, 1947, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. He preceded her in death July 2, 2015.

Mrs. Goepferich enjoyed flowers, going out to eat, shopping, family time and country music. She enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica and was an avid doll collector.

Surviving are three daughters, Elaine (Richard) Begle of Dale, Susan (John) Vaal of St. Meinrad and Janet (Hilbert) Mullen of Ferdinand; a son, Hubert Jr. (Charlene) Goepferich of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Norbert Petry of Peru; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Ervin Petry, and two sisters, Mildred Petry and Doretha Jochem.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
