Roberta L. Stratman, 90

Roberta L. Stratman, 90, formerly of Jasper, died Friday, August 24, in Brownsburg, Indiana.

She was born in Washington, Indiana, on August 23, 1922, to William Edward Walker and Marguerite Wilz Walker. On June 29, 1948, she married John F. Stratman, Jr., at St. Simon Catholic Church in Washington, Indiana; he preceded her in death on September 26, 2007.

Survivors include,

Son, John Stratman of Richmond, Kentucky, and his wife Brenda;

Son, Gary Stratman of Kildeer, Illinois, and his wife Laura;

Daughter, Susan Bradtmueller of Brownsburg, Indiana, and her husband Damon;

Daughter, Anne Harth of Long Grove, Illinois, and her husband Doug;

Eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Theresia Hoggatt.

Mrs. Stratman was a member of the 1940 graduating class of Washington Catholic High School. After attending Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana, she worked as a bookkeeper in the office of Graham Farms in Washington.

She was a member of Dubois County VFW Ladies Auxiliary #673, Jasper Circle #140 Daughters of Isabella, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
