Robert L. Reuber, 88

Robert L. Reuber, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:24 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St. Charles Healthcare Campus in Jasper.

Robert was born on November 1, 1925 in Jasper, IN to Joseph and Anna (Schneider) Reuber.

He married Katherine (Katie) Turk on April 2, 1946 in Loogootee Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2006.

Robert and his wife Katie owned and operated Reuber’s Food Mart in Jasper for 33 years.

He was a Merchant Marine Veteran who served in European Theater in WWII.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the Lions Club, and the Patoka lake sailing club.

He enjoyed sailing, camping, and woodworking.

She is survived by one daughter, Sara Reuber of Jasper; three sons, Joe Reuber and wife Becky, of Jasper, Clint Reuber and wife Stacey, of Jasper, and Michael Reuber and wife Patricia, of Wadesville; four grandchildren, Joey, Nichole, Tara, and Samantha; nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death besides his wife is one daughter, Diane Reuber, four sisters, Gertrude Denning Hoffman, Philomena (Minnie) Reuber, Amelia Martin, and Maria J. Schepers, and two brothers, Ferdinand J. and Ignatius Reuber.

Funeral services for Robert Reuber will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN with burial to follow Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
