Robert L. Popp, 81, Jasper

Robert L. Popp, 81, of Jasper, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at St Charles Healthcare Center in Jasper. 

Bob was born in Jasper on December 1, 1940, to Hilbert and Eldena (Harder) Popp.

He married Myrna Harker on September 3, 1960, in Alfordsville Christian Church.  

He retired from Kimball Upholstery as a plant manager after 45 years of service. After retirement, he drove vehicles for Uebelhor and Sons.  

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville and attended Redemption Christian Church in Jasper.   

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  

Bob was a great husband and was loved by his family.  

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Myrna Popp; two daughters, Glenda (Terry) Persohn and Debbie (Duane) Lindauer; two sons, Bobby and fiancé Jill Collins and Randy (Carla) Popp; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter on the way.  

Preceding him in death are two brothers; Fred Popp and James “Jim” Popp, and one sister; Louanna Nuhring. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at Redemption Christian Church in Jasper.   

A funeral service for Robert L. Popp will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1st, in Redemption Christian Church, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville, Indiana.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Redemption Christian Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, or a favorite charity.
