Robert L. Nalin, 83, of Thomasville, Ga.

Robert L. Nalin, 83, of Thomasville, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at his home.
Robert was born in Jasper, Indiana on February 3, 1932 to Cletus P. and Mildred B. (Burch) Nalin. He married Maureen P. Harvey on May 25, 1966, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Dublin, Ireland.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was assigned to classified mission projects. He was a graduate of Jasper High School who attended Oklahoma State University and Joy’s Business School in Thomasville, Ga.
For over 50 years, he owned and operated Thomasville Chemical Products Company, as a manufacturer, distributor and later, repackager of laundry and beauty supplies. His customers knew him affectionately as the “Bleach Man.”
Bob was a family man. He loved sports, particularly baseball, softball, and basketball. He was an ace pitcher for the Knights of Columbus in Jasper, Indiana, and the Air Force, where he pitched no- hitters in the National League. He played for the Warner Brother’s team in the YMCA Men’s Softball League in Thomasville. He was assistant scoutmaster for Troup 333 in Thomasville and an avid Braves fan.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Maureen Nalin of Thomasville, Ga.; daughter, Monica Brady and husband Terry of Macon, Ga.; son, Vincent Nalin and wife Kim of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Rachel Leyton, Victoria, Kellie and Julia Nalin, Suzanna and Allyson Brady; one great-grandchild, Noah Leyton; three sisters, Dorothy Wigand and husband Anthony of Ireland, Marge Martin of Jasper and Janice Niehaus and husband Tom of Ferdinand; two brothers, William Nalin of Evansville and Tom Nalin and wife LaDonna of Evansville; nieces and nephews
Preceding him in death was one sister, Shirley Wigand.
Funeral services for Robert L. Nalin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
