Robert L. Gutgsell, 84

Robert L. Gutgsell, age 84, of Schnellville, passed away at 6:57 p.m., Tuesday (September 11, 2012) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, IN.
He was born December 20, 1927 in Celestine, Indiana to Godfrey and Veronica (Wehr) Gutgsell. He married Monica Rose Nordhoff on September 27, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana.
He worked at the Jasper Corporation for 20 years and then worked as a farmer for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and later served in the Army National Guard.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, the St. Anthony American Legion Post #493, the V.F.W. Post #673, the Schnellville Conservation Club, and a past director of the Schellville Fire Department.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing cards, especially Sheephead, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services for Robert L. Gutgsell will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (September 15, 2012) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schnellville. The St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday (September 14, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before the service time at church.
