Robert L. Durcholz, 82

Robert L. Durcholz, 82, of Jasper, passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Robert was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 29, 1933 to Lawrence and Hilda (Oeding) Durcholz. He married Mary Kapp on March 5, 1958 at St. Meinrad. She preceded him in death on December 19th, 2007.

Robert retired from JOFCO in Jasper. He was a Army veteran from 1955 to 1957 and served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Gary Durcholz and wife Mary Ann of St. Anthony; one son-in-law, Stan Scherle of Jasper; three grandchildren, Kim Dutkosky, Kara Glendening and Mitchell Durcholz; four great-grandchildren Marek and Natia Dutkosky and Josslyn and Kendyl Glendening; one brother, Harold Durcholz and wife Virlee of Ferdinand.

Preceding him in death beside his wife was one daughter, Joyce Scherle, and one brother, Lawrence Durcholz.

Funeral services for Robert L. Durcholz will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The Jasper VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
