Robert J. Stemle, 86

Robert J. Stemle, 86, of Jasper, passed away at 5:48 a.m. today, Monday, July 20, 2015, in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Jasper, Indiana on February 23, 1929 to Leopold and Kathy (Otto) Stemle. He married Rosemary C. Hauser on November 27, 1954.
He was a Korean War Veteran where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Infantry Combat Metal. He also coached Little League for 14 years and was the past chaplain of the Dubois County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 77.
Bob was a former foreman at Jasper Corporation for many years and retired from Greater Jasper School Corporation as a maintenance engineer where he worked for 26 years.
Bob is a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post # 673 and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Also a member of the Singing Seniors.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Stemle; three sons, Zeph Stemle and wife Monica of Greenwood, Ind., Jayme Stemle and wife Tina of Greenwood, Ind. and Bart Stemle and wife Marla of Winslow; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Henry, Lawrence and Ralph Stemle. One sister, Agnes Lueken and one daughter-in-law, Myra Stemle.
Funeral services for Robert J. Stemle will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. .F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. by the DAV Chapter # 77 at the funeral home.
