Robert J. Rickelman, 78
Robert J. Rickelman, age 78, passed away at 1:26 p.m. Saturday (January 5, 2013) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born at Ferdinand, Indiana March 17, 1934 to Edmund and Catherine (Denning) Rickelman. He married Rosalee Kapp June 22, 1954 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.
Robert Rickelman retired from the Dubois County Highway Department where he had worked for many years and also worked for Jasper Engine and Transmission Exchange for 17 years.
He and his wife also owned and operated the Palm Gardens Tavern in Bretzville as well as the Friendly Inn at Bristow.
His hobbies included fishing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper – Fraternal Order of Eagles – Birdseye Conservation Club and the 3rd order of the St. Meinrad Knight of Columbus Council 5599.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen Rickelman.
Funeral service for Robert Rickelman will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (January 9, 2013) with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday by the St. Meinrad Knight of Columbus.
