Robert E. Schipp, 77, Ferdinand

Robert E. Schipp, 77, of Ferdinand, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Robert was born July 3, 1938, in Ferdinand to Gilbert and Laura (Witte) Schipp. He married Patricia Tempel on August 6, 1983, in St. Ferdinand Church.

Robert retired from E.H. Hamilton Trucking after 48 years of service. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed taking drives to look at wildlife, reading and playing Sheepshead at the Ferdinand American Legion.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia; one son, Chris (Jenny) Schipp of Ferdinand; one daughter, Katie (Scott) Moeller of Sellersburg; three step-children, Doug Bath of Holland, Eric Bath of North Carolina and Annette Mattingly of Washington; two grandchildren, Lucas Moeller and Gavin Schipp; three sisters, Clarrisa Schipp of Ferdinand, Norma Schipp of Jasper and Sr. Mary Gilbert of Beech Grove; one brother, David (Carolyn) Schipp of Celestine.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Henry Catholic Church with burial to follow in the St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
