Robert E. Humbert, 77

Robert E. Humbert, age 77, of Jasper, passed away at 10:23 p.m. Saturday (March 30, 2013) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, IN.

Robert was born on June 25, 1935 in Celestine, Indiana to Leo and Clara (Kleinhelter) Humbert. He married Elaine Schmidt on May 16, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN.

He was a foreman for Jasper Lumber Company, from which he retired after 47 years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, the Jasper Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society.

He was a member of the Dubois High School Class of 1953, where he played basketball.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Humbert, Jasper, IN; one daughter, Kristy Fuesler and husband Larry, Huntingburg, IN; three sons, Gene Humbert and wife Donna, Jasper, IN, Steve Humbert and wife Donna, Nashville, TN, and Jason Humbert and wife Catherine, Jasper, IN; six grandchildren, Nathan, Ashley, Grace, and Brayden Humbert, Cameron and Benjamin Fuesler; one great-grandchild, Addison Humbert; one brother, Linus Humbert and wife Helen, Ireland, IN; and three sisters,  twin sister – Betty Hassfurther, Dubois, IN, Aileen Lueken and husband Ray, Celestine, IN, and Margie Marks and husband Ronnie, Celestine, IN;

Preceding him in death is one sister, Irene Lueken.

Funeral services for Robert Humbert will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (April 3, 2013) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday (April 2, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services on Wednesday at Holy Family Church.
